This weekend in London, I walked through the streets near Buckingham Palace with a wonderful group of lovely men.

We stumbled upon a hidden piece of romance: the letters W + CC are visible in gold on old lampposts. According to legend, this is a gesture of love from the Duke of Westminster, who was so fond of his Coco Chanel that he had her initials added.

What a story, I thought, pure romance!

Until I later (unfortunately) discovered that CC actually just stands for City Council...

The feeling lingered pleasantly.

Because romance is important, a small gesture with a big impact.

Occasionally let your partner shine, simply because you can.

Yet I often see the opposite pattern: partners who are so focused on relieving the other person that they slowly disappear themselves.

Who give so much that they forget to show themselves.
